You’re Not Allowed to Feel This Way About Me

I broke my hands
to make her love me
I don’t think I’ll
sleep for a week again
There is too much mud
on the bottom
of the river
to breathe to see
He bit his tongue off in my arms
It’s one goddamn
after another
and I need somebody
else to do
my praying.
