After complications the May postcard by Nadia Zamin is on its way. Keep an eye on your mailbox!
This month's Red Flag Poetry postcard is on its way, do not fret. Your monthly dose of poetic genius will still be delivered right to your mailbox. However, due to a printing discrepancy the cards will be arriving late this month. You can expect your reprieve from bills and junk mail to be at your address within the next two weeks, so keep a look out.
Our sincerest apologies,
Your poetry postmasters.
Have you had something to say about one of our postcards, poems, or interviews that you just couldn't get off your mind? So have we, and we've finally fixed that bug on the website. Using the Facebook comments feature you're now able to post comments on all of our 'blog' style pages! Please share your thoughts, but please be respectful of other people too!
No jokes here, we're looking for your poems! Our submission period is open until May 31st! For more information check out our submit page!
Red Flag Poetry is proud to announce that we've embraced GreenSubmissions to manage all the great poems you want us to read! Doing this will simplify the process for you, for us, and make the world a better place. It will also allow us to better guarantee a blind reading of your work. Our submission period opens April 1st, so get writing and and check out our GreenSubmissions page!
Our submission acceptance letters just went out! To all that submitted, we thank you for your continued interest and support of this project. To all our subscribers, get ready for some great poetry coming your way in the upcoming months! We will be opening up submissions again in the spring.
Due to all the great submissions we have received here at Red Flag we will not be accepting any further work for a short period. This does not mean you should stop writing; we love everything we receive. Submissions will be open again in the spring, and we look forward to reading more of the great poetry out there.
Dear RedFlag subscribers,
Everyone knows that the postal service is drowning in deliveries around the holidays. We here at RedFlag are experiencing this delay right now. The January postcards are on their way to your mailboxes, but due to the high volume of traffic the postal service is handling currently they will be slightly delayed. Do not fret your poetry is on its way, and you will soon have a brand new postcard to enjoy. We hope everyone had a great holiday season!
Pete, Wes, & Matt
Red Flag Poetry is currently accepting submissions for our monthly poetry postcards and as well as poems for Poetry Express, our digital poetry arm.
We are looking for poetry that employs interesting and innovative language, images, or content. For our print postcards we value shorter work for the logistical ease of printing it on our postcards to help supply our readers with that quick poetry fix on the go (or the trip in from the mailbox). For Poetry Express we want similar poetry, but here we want to see your longer works. We read all submissions.
Please submit no more than three (3) poems in .doc format to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than December 15th.
Please attach each poem to the email individually and title the file “Poem Title” – Red Flag Submission. Please remove all author identifying marks from the documents to maintain a blind reading. Additionally, please address the subject line in your email “poetry submission.”
Finally, please include a brief 2-3 sentence bio in the body of your email.
As always, be sure to check out the kinds of poetry we publish at RedFlagPoetry.com. While you’re there be sure to subscribe so you can always get the best poetry in your mailbox or inbox each month!
